KYIV, March 5 – Ukraine's international reserves in February 2019 decreased 2.9% and as of March 1, 2019 reached $20.22 billion (in equivalent), according to preliminary data posted on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
According to the central bank, the reduction in reserves was due to substantial payments on the state debt in the amount of $1.285 billion (in equivalent), including $837.8 million (in equivalent) used to service and redeem government bonds and other public debt, $447.6 million – to pay on obligations to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
