KIEV, Feb. 6 – Operating Ukrainian banks lost an overall UAH 52.966 billion in 2014, while in 2013 banks saw profit of UAH 1.436 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

"Revenues of Ukrainian banks in 2014 compared to 2013 grew by 24.5%, to UAH 210.2 billion. Expenses of Ukrainian banks in 2014 grew by 57.2% compared to 2013, to UAH 263.2 billion. The banking system's loss as of January 1, 2015 totaled UAH 53 billion," reads the report.

NBU said that the consolidated banking losses in December came to UAH 30.547 billion.
