KIEV, Aug. 12 - Kiev Regional Prosecutor's Office has finished probing the actions of the police officers monitoring the electronic tracking bracelet of Petrol Melnyk, former rector of the National University of the State Tax Service and a close ally of Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, the prosecutor's office reported.
The checks found a number of violations in the actions of the officials in charge of the fixed control system.
"In particular, these individuals failed to promptly respond to reports of violations of the signal from the bracelet, improperly determined the causes and circumstances of this, and also failed to ensure timely measures to establish the whereabouts of the person to whom a precautionary measure was applied," the prosecutor's office reported.
