KIEV, Aug. 1 - Ukraine plans to accelerate imports of natural gas from Russia in August as it attempts to store enough gas for the upcoming winter, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytskiy said Thursday.

Ukraine will import between 2 billion cubic meters and 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas in August, compared with an average of less than 1Bcm/month imported over the past several months.
