KIEV, Feb. 11 - The U.S. Department of Agriculture has upgraded its Ukraine corn export 2012/13 agricultural year forecast compared to the January forecast by 500,000 tons, to 13 million tons.
The USDA says that the corn harvest forecast was upgraded from 20.5 million tons to 20.92 million tons, while the ending stock forecast was downgraded from 1.1 million tons to 1.02 million tons, compared to 1.05 million tons as of early this agricultural year.
The U.S. experts also upgraded the wheat harvest forecast from 15.5 million tons to 15.76 million tons and other grain crops from 8.06 million tons to 8.4 million tons, while the forecast of their exports did not change, being 6.2 million tons and 2.21 million tons, respectively. The domestic wheat consumption forecast was upgraded by 200,000 tons and for other crops – by 250,000 tons.
