KIEV, Nov. 1 – Ukraine will import about 1 million cubic meters of natural gas a day supplied by Germany’s RWE in November-December, a Naftogaz Ukrayiny official told Argus Media agency.
The gas, which represents an alternative to Russian natural gas supplies, will be delivered from Poland via Drozdovychi through one of the gas pipelines linking the two countries.
Pavlo Afanasyev, director of the department for gas, meteorology, and oil and gas calculations, said the price of gas imported by RWE will be lower than the price for Russian gas bought by Naftogaz Ukrayiny from Gazprom under a long-term contract.
Naftogaz and RWE during the next two months will discuss a long-term plan for the delivery of natural gas, Afanasyev said.
