KIEV, Aug. 7 - Ukraine’s plans to replace imported natural gas with domestically extracted coal as the key source of energy for the country is a “strategic issue,” Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Tuesday.

Azarov met Li Jiping, vice-president of China Development Bank, which had last month agreed to lend $3.66 billion to Ukraine for various gas-to-coal conversion projects.
