KIEV, July 5 – Parliament has passed at first reading a draft law that considerably changes the conditions of operation on the renewable energy market.
A total of 258 out of 267 lawmakers registered in the session hall on Wednesday supported draft law No. 10183, which was drawn up by MPs Mykola Romaniuk, Yulia Liovochkina and Yuriy Miroshnychenko (Regions Party).
The document proposes to introduce a feed-in tariff for electricity generated from biogas and solid household waste from January 1, 2013.
Under the draft, the feed-in tariff coefficient for electricity generated from biogas will be 2.7 and that for solid household waste – 3. Power plants using solid household waste are to stick to the emission requirements.
