KIEV, March 3 – Ukraine hopes to reach a compromise with Russia on the basis of a new draft gas agreement proposed by Russia's Gazprom, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
"Now we are studying the document. We are preparing for negotiations with the Russian side. We have our own vision of this contract, and we want a compromise to be reached on the basis of our vision and the proposed draft," he told reporters in Kiev on Saturday.
Azarov said that the draft agreement had been submitted for consideration by the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry, the Justice Ministry and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
