KIEV, Nov. 9 – The sunflower harvest in Ukraine in the coming 2011/12 marketing year (MY, September-August) will be 7.8 million tons, which is 15.2% up on the previous marketing year, according to forecasts by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

According to the department's estimates, sunflower exports in the new MY will rise by 88.9%, to 850,000 tons, while domestic consumption will increase by 7.2%, to 6.81 million tons.
