BRUSSELS, May 4 – The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is intending not to allow problems with migrants from North Africa to the EU to affect talks between Kiev and Brussels on visa regime liberalization, Euronest Parliamentary Assembly co-President Kristian Vigenin said at a press conference in Brussels.
"Our fight at the European Parliament will be in keeping the EU openness [in the visa field] and hope that the development of the situation in North Africa will not affect our relations with our neighbors in the east in terms of simplifying visa regime. This case [with the Eastern Partnership countries] can be easily protected, as there is already separation between two dimensions [the division of the European neighborhood policy into southern and eastern dimensions]. I am confident that Euronest will make its contribution not only to stop those changes, but, on the contrary, prove that more we are open, more we can achieve."
