KIEV, March 21 – Russia may suggest Ukraine elevate the status of the Russian language in the country as part of a deal to lower natural gas prices, a senior Russian lawmaker said Sunday.

Konstantin Zatulin, the head of the CIS committee in Russian Parliament, said extending the stay of Russian naval fleet in Sevastopol beyond 2017 may also be linked to the deal.
