2 opposition parties pledge cooperation

KIEV, Oct. 17 – Batkivshchyna and Svoboda, two opposition parties that may enter Parliament after October 28 elections, pledged to work together to impeach President Viktor Yanukovych and to reverse his policies.


Russian president to arrive in Donetsk for talks with Yanukovych

KIEV, Oct. 17 - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is expected to arrive in Donetsk on Tuesday for talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych, officials said Monday.

This is expected to be their first meeting after both reported progress in natural gas talks in Moscow on September 24. No official comments were made on details of the progress.
