Regions bill targets libeling journalists
KIEV, Sept. 18 – President Viktor Yanukovych’s Regions Party started a push on Tuesday to approve legislation that would slap journalists with up to three-year jail sentences for disseminating ‘libelous’ information about politicians. |

New joint stock co law protects shareholders, says American Chamber
KIEV, Sept. 18 -- The adoption of the Law on Joint Stock Companies by Ukraine's Parliament on Wednesday "creates legal conditions to protect the rights of shareholders in Ukraine and removes many gaps in current legislation regarding the establishment and operations of joint stock companies," reads a statement by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine.

Hryvnia dives while Ukraine stocks plunge
