Next IMF mission expected to arrive in Kiev after Oct. 25 elections

KIEV, Oct. 16 – The next mission of the International Monetary Fund is expected to come to Kiev for the second review of the extended fund facility (EFF) and for the disbursement of the third tranche worth $1.7 billion after the local elections scheduled for October 25 are held, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko said.

Azarov hopeful of Russian natural gas price breaks for Ukraine

KIEV, Oct. 19 - Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Tuesday he was hopeful of further lowering natural gas prices for Ukraine soon despite Russia’s original refusal to re-negotiate the 10-year gas agreement.

The comment comes ahead of Azarov’s meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin due in Kiev on October 27 as both plan to discuss the natural gas sector.
