KIEV, March 21 – President Viktor Yanukovych has called for the adoption of a new government privatization program and the expansion of the list of companies to be sold off.


Donetsk official: Special economic zones law to start up again

DONETSK, March 19 – The law on special economic zones and priority development territories will again start working in Ukraine, newly appointed Chairman of Donetsk Regional Administration Anatoliy Blyzniuk said on Friday, with reference to a statement made by Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych during a meeting with Donetsk region leadership on Thursday.


Azarov calls for new approach to natural gas pricing in Ukraine

NBU: Current account deficit expanded to 7.1% of GDP in 2008

KIEV, March 19 - Ukraine's current account deficit expanded to $12.9 billion, or 7.1% of GDP, in 2008, from $5.3 billion, or 3.7% of GDP, in 2007, according to updated statistics posted on the National Bank's Web site.
