Govt won’t push for amendment on Russian

KIEV, June 25 – Ukraine’s government won’t push for a constitutional amendment to make Russian the second state language in Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said Monday, reversing an earlier push by the ruling Regions Party.

KIEV, June 23 – Parliament on June 23 approved a law which restricts currency lending to individuals, according to Stanislav Arzhevitin, first deputy head of the parliamentary committee for finance and banking activities and the head of the council of the Association of Ukrainian Banks (AUB).


President signs law banning gambling after earlier opposition

KIEV, June 23 – President Viktor Yushchenko participated in the opening of the Bogdan Corporation car plant in Cherkasy.

"For the first time in the 50 years since ZAZ was put into operation, we are present at the opening of a national car manufacturing plant. This is not an everyday event," Yuschenko said.
