Yanukovych and Cypriot president sign cooperation agreements in Kiev

KIEV, July 4 – President Viktor Yanukovych and his Cypriot counterpart Demetris Christofias attended a ceremony to sign bilateral documents in Kiev on Monday.

The press service of the Ukrainian president reported that the sides had signed four intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in various fields, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Cyprus on cooperation in matters related to the European Union.


Foreign minister, US Secretary of State fail to sign nuke safety deal

KIEV, July 4 - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton should have signed a memorandum on mutual understanding between the governments of Ukraine and the United States regarding cooperation in nuclear safety in Vilnius (Lithuania) on July 1, but the document has not been signed, according to the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia Ukraine weekly with reference to its own source.


Tymoshenko trial adjourned until July 6

Parliament to investigate RosUkeEnergo Arbitration Court ruling

KIEV, July 1 – Parliament has set up a temporary investigatory commission to conduct an inquiry into the June 8 Stockholm Arbitration Tribunal ruling, the allegations of corrupt activities against the Swiss-registered gas trader RosUkrEnergo AG, the involvement of public officials into this case, and the arrest of former chief of the State Customs Service Anatoliy Makarenko.

This decision was supported by 238 out of 433 lawmakers at Parliament's meeting on Thursday.
