Ukrainians try to punch thru Russian defense
KYIV, June 5 - Ukrainian forces were making a major effort to end a battlefield stalemate and punch through Russian defensive lines in southeast Ukraine for a second day Monday, in what may herald the start of a long-anticipated counteroffensive after 15 months of war.

Ukraine's direct state debt to drop to 53% of GDP by 2022
KYIV, June 5 – Ukraine's direct state debt, being 52.3% of GDP as of late 2018, in 2019 will be cut to 52% of GDP, and by 2022 – to 43% of GDP, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oksana Markarova has said, describing the goals of the medium-term strategy for managing state debt for 2019-2022 approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday. |
Ukrainian Parliament refuses to accept resignation of Klimkin
KYIV, June 6 – Ukrainian lawmakers have not backed the resignation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.
At a session on Thursday, only 141 MPs voted for the draft resolution on the foreign minister's resignation with the minimum required being 226 votes, according to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent.
