Kerry: Minsk deal may be 'doomed to fail'

KIEV, July 7 - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry warned on Thursday that the Minsk peace deal on Ukraine was doomed to fail unless "real security" was restored in eastern Ukraine where government forces are pitted against Russian-backed separatists, Reuters reported.


Naftogaz CEO urges agreement on 'winter package' by end of September

KIEV, July 6 – Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev expects the next round of the trilateral gas talks involving Ukraine, Russia and the European Union will be held in July and stresses the need to agree on a new "winter package" by the end of September.


Economic ministry calls for abolition of fees for small breweries

Ukraine confirms consent to new 'winter package' for 2015/2016

KIEV, July 7 - Ukraine has confirmed its consent to a new 'winter' package for the 2015/2016 heating season based on a trilateral protocol between Ukraine, Russia and the European Union and a supplement to the gas contract between NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia's OAO Gazprom, similar to the 2014/2015 'winter' package, and guarantees transit of Russian gas to Europe if the deal is made, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said.

KIEV, July 7 – President Petro Poroshenko is currently meeting with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, who is on an official visit to Ukraine.

Moscow switches off power to rebel areas

Slavyansk fossil fuel plant to need extensive repairs after shelling
