Peace talks continue as fighting worsens

MINSK, Feb. 11 - The leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine held peace talks in Belarus deep into the night, while in Ukraine pro-Moscow separatists tightened the pressure on Kiev by launching some of the war's worst fighting, Reuters reported.


Vinnytsia showing best mobilization results, government reports

KIEV, Feb. 9 – The Presidential Administration has noted that Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky and Kirovohrad regions show the best results from mobilization, while Kharkiv, Sumy, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions had the worst results.


Government moves to tighten controls in regions bordering fight

KIEV, Feb. 9 – The Cabinet of Ministers will introduce a special border regime for a number of districts and populated areas of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions, as well as two districts in Kherson region which border Crimea, starting February 10 for the duration of the “anti-terrorist operation."

This is stated in government decree No. 38 on certain means of improving Ukraine's national security, dated January 30.


No legal reasons for Yanukovych to dissolve Parliament, his aide says

KIEV, Feb. 11 - The Ukrainian president's advisor, Maryna Stavniychuk, said there is no legal reasons at the moment allowing the president to dissolve Parliament.

She responded to growing speculations that President Viktor Yanukovych had been considering dissolving Parliament to prevent the emergence of a coalition in Parliament opposing his rule.
