S&P slaps Ukraine with 'selective default' rating following debt deal

KIEV, Sept. 25 – Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has lowered its long- and short-term foreign currency sovereign credit ratings on Ukraine to 'SD' (selective default) from 'CC/C'. At the same time it affirmed its 'CCC+/C' long- and short-term local currency ratings.


Macroeconomic situation will stabilize in 2016, Nomura analyst says

ODESSA, Sept. 25 – The macroeconomic situation in Ukraine will stabilize in 2016, predicts Nomura International analyst Timothy Ash.

"Our expectations on macroeconomic stabilization have come true. Despite the large deficit of the budget, the balance of solvency is becoming stable, outflow of capital fell, payments are settled and stabilization is growing," he said at the Odessa Financial Forum.

EC to provide at least $500 million to help Ukraine buy Russian gas

KIEV, Sept. 28 – The European Commission will provide $500 million to Ukraine for the purchases of Russian gas until the end of 2015.

"The European Commission continues its efforts towards organixing, through European and international financial institutions, the necessary financing for gas purchases by Ukraine during the winter period, as part of which at least $500 million should be available by the end of this year," reads a press release of the European Commission issued on Saturday.


Holders of Metinvest notes form ad-hoc creditors' committee
