NBU official: Improving currency market will enable liberalization

KIEV, Oct. 18 – The situation on the currency market is developing positively, which gives grounds to expect further market liberalization steps, according to Serhiy Nikolaichuk, director of the monetary policy and economic analysis department of the National Bank of Ukraine.

KIEV, Oct. 16 - Ukraine on Friday approved a plan to reform the national energy company Naftogaz Ukrayiny, taking the country closer to securing $800 million in loans for natural gas purchases.


Money supply rose 1.7% last month, National Bank of Ukraine reports

KIEV, Oct. 15 - Monetary base in Ukraine in September decreased by 2.3%, to UAH 321.2 billion, while money supply increased by 1.7%, to UAH 964.7 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

Ukraine to hold tenders for Slobozbanske, Prykerchensky fields

KIEV, Oct. 18 – Ukraine plans to announce tenders in December to sign Product Sharing Agreements for the Slobozhanske oil and gas field (Kharkiv and Poltava regions) and Prykerchensky shallow field (the Black Sea shelf), Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Eduard Stavytsky said.


Zaporizhia Ferroalloy to boost output 60% after tariffs are lowered

KIEV, Oct. 18 - Ukraine’s No. 2 ferroalloy producer, Zaporizhia Ferroalloy Plant (ZFP), plans to boost ferroalloy output by 60% next year after the government agreed to lower power tariffs, Zaporizhia regional administration reported Wednesday.


SPF to auction Kharkhiv Combined Heat and Power Plant on Nov. 7

KIEV, Oct. 17 - The State Property Fund will offer 94.48% of Kharkiv Combined Heat and Power Plant-5 in a privatization auction on November 7.

The privatization auction will offer 279.562 million shares, the State Property Fund told the Vidomosti Pryvatyzatsii newspaper.
