Ukraine GTS in good condition, according to Ferrostaal executive

KIEV, June 19 – Germany's Ferrostaal Industrieanlagen GmbH, which is participating in the modernization of the Bar compressor station of the Soyuz trunk gas pipeline (Barsky district, Vinnytsia region), has said that the technical condition of the Ukrainian gas transport system is good, Ferrostaal executive director Kay Ewaldsen said in an interview with the Kommersant publication.


Crimean government reports 8% rise in tourists so far this year

SIMFEROPOL, June 18 – Some 1.095 million tourists have come to Crimea for vacations as of June 18, 8% up on the same period in 2011.

According to the main information policy department of the Crimean government, the largest number of tourists came to Sudak and Feodosia, where the number of tourists increased by 20% and 15% respectively.


Law introducing floating excise tax on petroleum goes into effect

KIEV, June 18 - A law introducing floating excise tax rates on petroleum products in Ukraine will come into force on June 19.

The text of the law was published in the government's Uryadovy Kuriyer newspaper on June 18.

According to the law, the current rates on excise taxes will be used as base rates until the end of 2012.


Ukrtransnafta to buy 560,000 tons of Tengiz oil from Swiss company

KIEV, June 18 - Ukrainian oil transportation system operator Ukrtransnafta announced it is planning to buy 560,000 tons of Tengiz oil or its equivalent Azeri Light from Transit S.A. (Geneva, Switzerland).


Azovzahalmash ships first batch of equipment for Brazil space complex

KIEV, June 18 – Azovzahalmash, part of Azovmash (both based in Mariupol, Donetsk region), has produced and shipped the first batch of special equipment for the Cyclone-4 rocket space complex, which is being constructed by Ukraine and Brazil at the Alcantara spaceport (Brazil), the company announced.


Bills would create foreign currency treasury obligation market

KIEV, June 19 – MP Ihor Prasolov, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Council and the subcommittee on securities and the stock market of the profile parliamentary committee, has submitted three bills to Parliament to create conditions for the Finance Ministry to issue foreign currency treasury obligations for the public.
