Trade ministry bill would abandon switch to daylight saving time

KIEV, Jan. 17 – The Economic Development and Trade Ministry has proposed abandoning the idea of switching to summer and winter daylight saving time.

"There's the following order for time calculation in Ukraine: the second time zone (Kiev time) with the annual advancement of the clocks on the last Sunday in March at 0300 by one hour, and putting them back by one hour on the last Sunday in October at 0400.

Deposit fund extends search for investors in troubled Kiev bank

KIEV, Jan. 18 – The Individuals' Deposit Guarantee Fund has decided to extend the search for potential investors in Bank Tavrika (Kiev).

"The fund announces that the terms for searching for potential investors in the insolvent Bank Tavrika have been prolonged until January 30… Only banks can participate in the purchase of assets and the transfer of the bank's liabilities," reads the report of the fund.
