Ukraine’s economic growth slows to 6.5% on year in Oct vs. 11.1% in Sep
KYIV, Nov 20 – The growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine compared to the same period last year in October slowed to 6.5% from 11.1% in September, primarily due to the lower contribution of agriculture due to a higher statistical base in October last year, according to the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER).

Ukrainian legislation creates independent gas transmission system operator
KYIV, Nov 19 – The unbundling bill passed by the Verkhovna Rada on November 15 under which transportation of natural gas should be separated from Naftogaz Ukrainy has formed the necessary conditions for creating an independent gas transmission system (GTS) operator that meets the requirements of the Third Energy Package, according to the Energy Community's Secretariat. |
Consumer confidence worsens first time since Zelenskiy’s election
KYIV, Nov 19 – Consumer confidence of Ukrainians in October 2019 worsened first after presidential election and the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) equaled 95.9 (the values of indices can vary from 0 to 200), which is 1.6 points lower, than the indicator in September, according to a survey of Info Sapiens posted on its website. |
Renaissance Capital sees Ukraine’s economy growing 3.7% in 2021
KYIV, Nov 19 – Renaissance Capital, an investment company, expects the potential growth of the Ukrainian economy thanks to the implementation of declared reforms by 2.5-2.7% and predicts the peak of GDP growth by 3.7% in 2021, while in 2019-2020 it could be 3.4%. |
