Kiev court postpones consideration of $6.6 billion Gazprom fine

KIEV, Nov. 21 – Kiev's economic court has postponed the consideration of a claim filed by Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee ( AMC ) for levying a fine on Gazprom and penalty for a total sum of UAH 172 billion, or $6.6 billion, and the new date is set for December 5, 2016.


Ukraine pipe production reported down 0.5% YTD through Oct. 31

KIEV , Nov. 22 – The major pipe enterprises of Ukraine in January-October 2016 reduced production of pipes by 0.5% compared to the same period in 2015, to 704,000 tons.

In October pipe output was 81,400 tons and in September – 83,500 tons.


Fitch Ratings upgrades 7 Ukrainian banks to 'B-,' from ' CCC

KIEV , Nov. 22 - Fitch Ratings announced it has upgraded the Long-Term Foreign Currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) of seven Ukrainian banks to 'B-' from ' CCC '.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny reports lower average gas import price for Q3

KIEV , Nov. 22 - Naftogaz Ukrayiny in the third quarter of 2016 imported natural gas to Ukraine at an average price of $187 per 1,000 cubic meters compared with $191 and $266 per 1,000 cubic meters, respectively, in the first quarter of 2016 and the fourth quarter of 2015.


IBRD lending Ukraine $560 million to rebuild crumbling highways

KIEV, Nov. 19 – An agreement on providing Ukraine with a $560 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development of the World Bank Group to finance the development of the road sector was signed Thursday.

KIEV, Nov. 20 – Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry and grain exporters have signed a memorandum of understanding for the 2015/2016 marketing year to guarantee food security in Ukraine.


IFC may allocate $200 million to help Ukraine buy gas this winter

KIEV, Nov. 20 – The World Bank Group's International Financial Corporation may allocate a one-year trade finance facility of up to $200 million to cover importation of natural gas to Ukraine during the 2015-2016 winter season by state-owned Naftogaz Ukrainy, the IFC reported on its website.


Rada finance committee to hold consultations on Pension Fund fee bill

KIEV, Nov. 20 – The parliamentary finance and banking committee will conduct additional consultations with experts on the bill on the introduction of a 15% fee to the Pension Fund from the sale of cash foreign currency by individuals, according to the committee's head, Vitaliy Khomutynnik.

KIEV, Nov. 21 – The National Bank of Ukraine hopes that stability on the currency market will be established as soon as a bill introducing criminal responsibility for attempts to sell dollars or euros in cash on the shadow market is adopted.


2012 growth projection will be lowered, says World Bank economist

KIEV, Nov. 21 – The World Bank projects lower economic growth in Ukraine in 2012 than earlier forecast, Senior Economist of the World Bank Representative in Ukraine Ruslan Piontkovsky said at the third Ukrainian Investment Forum: Rethinking the Future in Kiev on Wednesday.
