Ukraine suspends upfront natural gas payments following Gazprom glitch

KIEV, Feb. 24 - Ukraine suspended all upfront payments for supplies of Russian natural gas following Russian gas giant Gazprom’s failure to deliver ordered and prepaid gas over the past two days, Naftogaz reported Tuesday.

Naftogaz ordered supplies of 114 million cubic meters of gas both, on February 22 and February 23, but the Russian company had only delivered 47 million cu m and 39 million cu m, respectively.


Danone Ukraine to close Kiev dairy plant due to urban area growth

KIEV, Feb. 21 - Danone Ukraine, one of the largest dairy producers in Ukraine, has decided to reallocate the production facilities of its Galakton dairy plant in Kiev to enterprises in Kremenchuk (Kremez) and Kherson (Danone Dnipro) by May 2015.

New declarations to appear on medical import licenses, says official

Interpipe to complete electric furnace steelmaking complex this year

KIEV, Feb. 24 – Interpipe, Ukraine’s biggest steel pipe producer, plans to complete construction of an electric furnace steelmaking complex and will start tests of its equipment by the end of 2011, Interpipe said in a statement Thursday.


Installed electric power plant capacity reported up 0.4% in 2010

KIEV, Feb. 22 – The installed capacity of electrical power plants belonging to the integrated power system of Ukraine grew by 0.4% (by 203.8 MW) in 2010, to 53,162 MW, according to National Energy Company Ukrenergo.
