Cabinet resolution foresees 27bcm of natural gas imports this year

KIEV, Jan. 21 – Ukraine in 2010 will need 60.89 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas, including 20.67 bcm of Ukrainian-extracted gas and 27 bcm of imported gas.

Poltava Mining increases production of iron ore by 9% in 2007

KIEV, Jan. 24 - Poltava Mining, Ukraine's biggest producer of iron ore pellets, increased production of iron ore by 9%, or 28.934 million tons, in 2007.

Production of iron ore concentrate rose 10% to 10.652 million tons, and pellet production grew 6% to 9.072 million tons, including 5.372 million tons of pellets with 62% iron and 3.701 million tons with 65% iron, the company said in a press release.


Russia’s TVEL to supply 2008’s first batch of nuke fuel next month

KIEV, Jan. 23 - OAO TVEL (Russia) will supply this year's first batch of fresh fissile fuel for Ukrainian nuclear power plants in February, the national nuclear power generation company EnergoAtom said on Wednesday, referring to a schedule approved by both sides.
