Fitch revises Ukraine currency outlook to positive, from stable

LONDON, July 21 - Fitch Ratings has revised the Outlooks on Ukraine's Long-term foreign and local currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) to Positive from Stable and affirmed the Long-term IDRs at 'B' and Short-term IDR at 'B'.


US companies expected to bid on Ukraine emergency phone system

Government paying co UAH4.9 billion for plastic demarcation posts

KIEV, July 22 – The State Land Cadastre Center has signed an agreement to produce 50 million plastic demarcation posts worth UAH 4.9 billion with Investeko Ltd. (Kiev region), reports the state agency for land resources.


Cabinet to improve subway mobile Internet access for Euro 2012

KIEV, July 22 – The Ukrainian cabinet has decided to improve mobile communications and networks in Kiev's subway by the time Ukraine hosts the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, providing access to underground high-speed mobile Internet, Segodnya newspaper said on Friday.


Cabinet draws up list of companies using special budget fund

KIEV, July 24 – The Cabinet of Ministers has drawn up a list of the energy facilities that will be financed from the special fund of the 2008 national budget using funds raised from a surcharge on power and heat bills.

"Today the government passed a resolution with a corresponding list," Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan told reporters in Kiev after a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Construction of complex suspension bridge gets underway

Zaporizhia, July 24 – Construction of the most complex suspension bridge in the country, over the Dnipro River, has got underway in Zaporizhia.

The base of the key suspension point of the bridge – the pylon – is to be made of concrete. Suspension cables are to be installed through the pylon, which will support a six-lane road on the bridge.


Agriculture ministry forecasts national grain export at 17m tons

KIEV, July 24 – Ukraine's Agriculture Ministry has said that the country may export 17-18 million tons of grain during the current marketing year (July 2008 through June 2009).
