KIEV, July 24 – The Cabinet of Ministers has drawn up a list of the energy facilities that will be financed from the special fund of the 2008 national budget using funds raised from a surcharge on power and heat bills.
"Today the government passed a resolution with a corresponding list," Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan told reporters in Kiev after a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Budget funds will be funneled this year into the construction of the following energy facilities: UAH 113.3 million will be spent on the Dniester hydroelectric pumped storage power plant, UAH 70.2 million on Tashlyk hydroelectric pumped storage power plant, and UAH 5 million on Kaniv hydroelectric pumped storage power plant, the Fuel and Energy Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine. UAH 11.5 million will be spent on the creation of a combined autonomous power supply system on Serpent (Zmiyiny) Island in the Black Sea.
