FAO: Small farmers in Ukraine suffer economic consequences of war
KYIV, May 29 – The war in Ukraine and its economic consequences have caused significant damage to the production and income of small farmers, which exceeded $3.85 billion, according to a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Ukraine’s debt increases 3.6% in April to reach historical maximum
KYIV, May 29 – In April 2023, the total state debt of Ukraine increased by 3.6% and reached a new historical maximum: in U.S. dollars by $4.37 billion, to $124.28 billion, in hryvnias by UAH 159.9 billion, to UAH 4 trillion 544.9 billion, according to data on the Finance Ministry's website.

European traders use Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities
DAVOS, May 27 – Foreign companies are again using underground gas storage (UGS) facilities in Ukraine, despite the war, although the volumes of such storage are still small due to gas shortages in Europe, Yuriy Vitrenko, Board Chairman of Naftogaz Ukrayiny, has said.

Ukraine must start importing gas before the end of year, Naftogaz says
DAVOS, May 27 – Ukraine currently does not import natural gas, and at the same time it manages to increase its stocks in storage facilities, however, such imports are likely to be required by the end of the year, but their relatively small volume gives flexibility in purchases, Board Chairman of Naftogaz Ukrayiny Yuriy Vitrenko has said.

Naftogaz forecast Ukraine’s gas production to drop 3-6% in 2022 due to war
DAVOS, May 27 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny predicts a decrease in gas production by 3-6% in 2022 due to the war, chairman of the board Yuriy Vitrenko said.
Naftogaz had growth before the war: since the end of last year, we reversed the trend and began to increase production. Because of the war, it began to fall by 3-4-5%. We predict that there will be a decline of 3-6% over the year, but with current trends, this is definitely not even 10%," Vitrenko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

Naftogaz, GTSOU seek Germany to suspend Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline
KYIV, May 27 – Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) and Naftogaz Ukrainy have sent an appeal to the German Ministry of Economy and the BNetzA regulator to suspend the previously granted exemptions in the legislation for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, head of the Ukrainian operator Serhiy Makogon said in a statement on TV on Friday.
