Two-way remittance flow fell sharply last year, NBU reports
KIEV, Feb. 29 – Remittances outflow from Ukraine fell by 33% in 2015, to $431 million in the equivalent, and remittances inflow to Ukraine decreased by 35%, to $2.526 billion in equivalent, Deputy Director of the payment systems department at the National Bank of Ukraine Olena Makhayeva said at the conference entitled "Innovations and Security of Remittance systems and Online Payments." |
Ukraine’s real GDP down 0.5% y-o-y in January, according to NBU
KIEV, Feb. 27 – Ukraine's real GDP in January 2013 fell by around 0.5% compared to January 2012, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.
"The pace of real GDP in January 2013 was in line with the pace of the basic sector production index. The statistics, analysis and projection department said that the fall in real GDP slowed, to some 0.5% year-over-year," reads the report. |
Government will soon revive five idle enterprises, says DPM
KIEV, Feb. 28 – The Ukrainian government will soon ensure the resumption of operation of five idle industrial enterprises in the country: two ferroalloy plants, two oil refineries and Karpatnaftokhim, Deputy Prime Minister Yuriy Boyko said at an extended cabinet meeting with the participation of the Ukrainian president in Kiev on Wednesday. |
‘3+1’ best Customs Union mode, says Ukraine’s foreign minister
KIEV, Feb. 28 – Ukraine still thinks that the 3+1 formula is the most acceptable mode for its cooperation with the Customs Union, Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara has said.
"The 3+1 format is the most acceptable form of cooperation with the Customs Union for Ukraine, in which our state could participate by creating a free trade area with the Customs Union and joining in some of its agreements in some spheres, taking into account interests of all sides, without exceptions," the minister said. |
