Officials, scientists pitch UAH150 million loan for energy projects

KIEV, March 30 – The creation of a full closed cycle for the production of energy-saving light bulbs and solar power plants on the basis of Lviv-based Karat scientific center as a part of an investment project under realization will require state support in the form of a UAH 150 million beneficial three-year credit, specialists say.


Renaissance Capital Investment analysts bullish on Ukrainian currency

KIEV, March 30 – The hryvnia crisis has ended, according to analysts from Renaissance Capital Investment Group.

"We forecast a minimum appreciation of the Ukrainian currency - to UAH 7.50 per dollar – by late 2010. Nothing threatens the hryvnia, at least this year, irrespective of whether the program of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund goes on," reads a survey drawn up by the analysts.


Inflationary expectations reported down as hryvnia stabilizes

Westinghouse and EnergoAtom sign 5yr contract to supply nuke fuel

KIEV, March 31 - Westinghouse Electric Co. of the U.S. and EnergoAtom, Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear power generator, signed a five-year contract for supply of nuclear fuel to three Ukrainian nuclear reactors, the companies reported.
