EU free-trade deal could hurt agriculture, says trade group

KIEV, June 30 – The creation of a free-trade zone with the European Union on the terms proposed by the EU would lead to large losses of the Ukrainian agrarian sector, according to the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB).


Industry ministry predicts engineering company recovery by 2014

KIEV, June 30 – Ukrainian engineering companies under control of the Industry Ministry could reach pre-crisis output in 2014, producing goods worth UAH 64.92 billion, and in 2015 the companies would exceed the said indicator by 17% compared to 2008, to UAH 74.738 billion, the Ukrainian Industry Ministry said.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny to seek adjustments to Russian natgas supply deal

KIEV, June 30 - Ukraine will seek to change natural gas supply and transit agreements with Russia towards increasing gas transit fees and reducing gas prices, a senior official at Naftogaz Ukrayiny said Wednesday.

Kherson oil refinery signs contract with CB&I Lummus Global

KIEV, June 26 – Kherson oil refinery has signed a contract with CB&I Lummus Global engineering company (the United States) to buy a license for technology and drawing up of a basic project to upgrade a delayed coking unit.


Aerosvit-Ukrainian Airlines increases frequency of some routes

KIEV, June 26 – AeroSvit-Ukrainian Airlines in June 2008 increased the frequency of flights on some routes, the company reported on Thursday.

The press service said that from June 15, the company increased frequency of flights to Simferopol to five per day and 35 per week. In the summer of 2007, AeroSvit flew three times a day to Crimea.


Asset companies boost funds under management 26% through April

KIEV, June 26 - Asset management companies in January to April increased the assets under their management by 26%, to UAH 51.375 billion, according to the head of the council of the Ukrainian Association of Investment Business, Dmytro Leonov.


Report shows Tatneft buying stakes in Amruz Trading, Seagroup

MOSCOW, June 27 – Tatneft in December 2007 bought a 49.6% stake in Switzerland's AmRuz Trading AG and a 100% stake in SeaGroup International Inc. (the United States) for $23.9 million and $57.1 million respectively, according to a report of Tatneft for 2007 under U.S. GAAP standards.


Azerbaijan readies soon for test-run of crude oil via Odessa-Brody

KIEV, June 30 – Azerbaijan, a major producer of Caspian Sea crude, told Ukraine on Monday it will soon be ready for a test-run shipment of crude via Odessa-Brody oil pipeline to Europe.
