World Bank official criticizes Ukraine’s grain export quota system

KIEV, March 31 – The present grain export quota system in Ukraine is inefficient and restricts the inflow of investment, according to Martin Raiser, World Bank's Country Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.


Profit tax rate reduction could raise UAH1.5 billion, says official

KIEV, April 1 – The reduction of the rate of profit tax from 25% to 23% from April 1, 2011 could lead to around UAH 1.5 billion being raised for the national budget, Vitaliy Zakharchenko, head of State Tax Administration of Ukraine (STAU) said at an online conference.


Odessa oil refinery owner leaves production estimates unconfirmed

Ukraine to produce 1 million cars by 2012, UkrAvto forecasts

ZAPORIZHIA, April 2 – UkrAvto, Ukraine’s biggest producer of cars, forecasts that by 2012, up to 1 million new cars will be produced in the country.

"We'll approach 1 million new cars in Ukraine by 2012," UkrAvto deputy chairman, Oleh Papashev, said at a recent press conference in Zaporizhia.


Ukraine may sell majority stakes in power generators by end-October

KIEV, April 3 – Ukraine may start selling majority strakes in state-owned fossil burning power generators at auctions in October, according to decision approved by the government Wednesday.
