Metinvest reports bondholder approval of eurobond restructuring

KIEV, June 2 – The holders of Metinvest eurobonds, the largest Ukrainian mining and metallurgical company, have approved the restructuring of its securities maturing in 2017 and 2018, but voting on the issue maturing on May 20 failed due to a lack of quorum, the company said on the website of the Irish Stock Exchange.


Ukraine forex reserves reported up 3%, to $9.9 billion, in May

KIEV, June 3 – Ukraine's forex reserves grew by 3%, or $287 million, in May, to $9.918 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine reported on Wednesday.

The positive balance of NBU interventions was estimated at $69 million last month.


Ukraine resumes delivering Oplot tanks to Thailand after halt

KIEV, June 3 – Ukraine has restarted deliveries of Oplot new-generation tanks to Thailand, which were suspended in 2014.

A second batch of five Oplot tanks, shipped in spring, arrived at Port Sattahip a few days ago, Interfax-Ukraine has learned.

Skimming device use on rise, says cyber crime department official

KIEV, May 31 – The number of skimming devices in Ukraine revealed in 2012 grew by 62%, and in 2013 traces of the devices are being registered several times a week, Deputy Head of the Cyber Crime Fighting Department at the Interior Ministry, Leonid Tymchenko, said.


SPF to announce tender in August to sell 60.7% Donbasenergo stake

KIEV, June 1 – The State Property Fund will announce a tender in August to sell a 60.7% stake in Donbasenergo, a power generating company, and will put 5% stakes in power supply companies - Mykolaivoblenergo, Kharkivoblenergo and Khmelnytskoblenergo - up for sale at exchanges.


Nadra Ukrayiny and ExxonMobil discuss Black Sea production deals

KIEV, June 1 – The signing of a product sharing agreement on the Skyfske oil and gas field on the Black Sea Shelf and further cooperation between Nadra Ukrayiny and ExxonMobil were discussed at a meeting of Nadra Ukrayiny Chairman Viktor Ponomarenko with an ExxonMobil delegation headed by Division Manager Jeffrey Johnson on May 30, Nadra Ukrayiny reported.

Energy Community scrutinizing Ukraine’s membership application

BRUSSELS, June 1 – The Energy Community (EC) hopes to gauge Ukraine's progress towards gaining membership of this organization, while the Ukrainian side, in turn, has assured the EC it will continue joint work, EC Secretariat Director Slavtcho Neykov said in an interview with Ukrainian journalists in Brussels.
