Fuel market analysts predict continued price rise in August

KIEV, Aug. 5 – Fuel market experts say it is possible that there will be a further rise in the price of fuel in Ukraine in August.

"August will be stable or show a slight rise," an expert on the fuel market, Leonid Kosianchuk, said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.


Alfa-Bank Ukraine issues $250 million of 12% three-year eurobonds

KIEV, Aug. 5 - Alfa-Bank Ukraine announced it placed $250 million of 12% three-year senior unsecured eurobonds on Aug. 4.

The bonds mature in August 2011 and have an investor put option which may be exercised in August 2009.


EU countries increase natural gas imports

KIEV, Aug. 5 – European Union countries, seeking to hedge themselves against possible natural gas supply disruptions in the event of a dispute between Ukraine and Russia in December, dramatically increased imports of gas this year.


Ukrainian grain and leguminous crop harvest up sharply form last year

KIEV, Aug. 4 – Ukraine by Aug. 4 harvested 31.86 million tons of early grain and leguminous crops from 9.333 million hectares, or 74% of the area under cultivation, the Agriculture Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.


Siemens to supply Kiev region paper mill with co-generation equipment

KIEV, Aug. 4 – Swedish industrial gas and steam turbine producer Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB, part of the Siemens Concern, will supply Obukhiv-based Kyivsky cardboard and paper mill in Kiev region with equipment for a co-generation power plant.


Next generation Antonov-148 prepares for duty in polar Russia

KIEV, Aug. 4 - The next-generation Antonov-148 regional jet aircraft has begun tests to expand its operational conditions in Russia's polar region.

At the initial stage of these tests the airplane will be inspected at Khatanga airport, ANTK Antonov, the aircraft manufacturer, told Interfax.


Number of flights in Ukrainian airspace up 12.4% y-o-y in H1

KIEV, Aug. 4 – The number of flights in Ukrainian airspace in January-June grew by 12.4% year-on-year, to 197,730 flights, according to the press service of the State Enterprise for Ukrainian Air Traffic Management (Ukraerorukh).

KIEV, Aug. 2 – Dnipropetrovsk-based Interpipe Company in January through June 2007 reported increased pipe shipping by a preliminary 13.3% year-on-year, to 638,000 tons.
