Kriukov Car Building Works to reduce workforce by 500 people

KREMENCHUK, Sept. 5 - Kriukov Car Building Works (KCBW, Poltava region) says it intends to reduce its workforce due to a fall in production.

KCBW Chairman Yevhen Khvorost said that around 500 people would be dismissed.


UniCredit Bank gets NBU okay to reorganize via Ukrsotsbank merger

KIEV, Sept. 5 – UniCredit Bank on September 3 received a permit from the National Bank of Ukraine to reorganize via merger with Ukrsotsbank (part of the UniCredit Group).

According to an official report of UniCredit Bank, the commission for reorganization created in line with a decision of August 5, 2013 of the only shareholder in UniCredit Bank – Italy's UniCredit SpA – has started operating.


Premier Leasing to supply 3 railways with electric locomotives

KIEV, Sept. 4 – Donetsk, Lviv, and Odessa railways, after a state procurement procedure to receive financial leasing services to buy electric locomotives, have signed agreements with Premier Leasing LLC on supply 350 locomotives as a part of the implementation of a program on the upgrade of their locomotive fleets, the State Railway Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) reported.


Energy and coal ministry retains basic gasoline and diesel excise

Mining cos reduced iron ore pellet output through Aug. 31, says govt

KIEV, Sept. 2 - Most Ukrainian mining companies reduced iron ore pellet production but raised concentrate production in January-August 2011.
Poltava Mining, the core asset of the London-listed Ferrexpo plc, reduced commercial pellet production 1.2% year-on-year to 6.456 million tons, but raised concentrate production 0.7% to 7.485 million tons.
