World Bank board to consider new Ukraine loan later this month

KIEV, May 6 – The Board of Directors of the World Bank plans to consider a new Development Policy Loan (DPL) for Ukraine on May 22, the bank reported.

On May 27, the board will consider the investment loan to improve energy efficiency and heating in Ukraine.


Ukraine reports payments surplus for 3rd consecutive quarter

KIEV, April 29 - Ukraine had a consolidated balance of payments surplus of $1.82 billion in Q1, compared with a deficit of $569 million in the same period last year, the National Bank of Ukraine reported.

KIEV, May 3 – Ukraine is preparing to supply to Iraq in May a second batch of BTR-4 armored personnel carriers, which were assembled at the facilities of the domestic defense industry under a large-scale contract worth more than $550 million for the supply of Ukrainian military equipment to the Iraqi customer, a source familiar with the implementation of the contract told Interfax-Ukraine.


Ukraine’s public debt hits record $41.29 billion level in Q1

KIEV, May 5 - Ukraine's public debt grew 4% or $1.605 billion to a record $41.29 billion in Q1, the Finance Ministry said on its Web site.

The ministry has revalued the debt as of the start of this year, raising it $1.925 billion from the original $37.76 billion.
