Ukrgazvydobuvannia to conduct offering for 15% company stake

LONDON, July 4 – It is planned to conduct an IPO for 15% of the shares in public joint-stock company Ukrgazvydobuvannia in 2015, chief adviser of board chairman of Naftogaz Ukrayiny Yuriy Vitrenko said at the Ukraine’s European Vector: Impact on Business conference organized by Concorde Capital investment company in London.


Shell announces plans to mothball Kharkiv well due to poor results

KHARKIV, July 4 - Biliayivska-400 well (Pervomaisk district, Kharkiv region) drilled under a production sharing agreement (PSA) between Shell and public joint-stock company Ukrgazvydobuvannia will be mothballed due to an unsatisfactory production rate, the director of the ecology and labor protection department of the representative office of Shell in Ukraine, Tetiana Bobrovytska said.

KIEV, July 4 - Ukraine will cut natural gas consumption by 20%, or by 6 billion cubic meters, in order to survive the winter without Russian gas supplies, Andriy Kobolev, the head of Naftogaz Ukrayiny, said Friday.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny reduces Russian gas imports by 50% this month

MOSCOW, July 6 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny has reduced the amount of gas it imports from Russia by about 50% in July compared with June, according to data from Russia's Fuel and Energy Central Dispatch Service.

Ukraine imported 128 million cubic meters (mcm) of Russian gas a day on average in June. The maximum for the month was 146 mcm.


Ukrnafta ordered to pay $146.9 million to Carpatsky Petroleum

KIEV, July 5 – The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has ordered Ukrnafta, the country's largest oil extracting company, to pay $146.9 million to Carpatsky Petroleum Corporation (Delaware, the United States) in reimbursement for its failure to fulfill an agreement on the joint development of the Rudivske-Krasnozavodske gas condensate field (Poltava region).


France’s Novarka to submit Chernobyl containment structure proposal

KIEV, July 6 – The Emergencies Ministry expects that France's Novarka concern in September will submit a working project on the construction of a new safe containment structure at the Chernobyl Shelter facility to Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which ordered the project, Volodymyr Kholosha, the head of the State Agency for the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone Management, has said.


Military denies stealing small landing ship design from Russians

KIEV, July 5 – Accusations that Ukraine violated the copyrights of Russian designers while concluding a contract with China on the construction of small landing ships at Feodosiya’s Morye shipyard are groundless, a high-ranking military source told Interfax-Ukraine.


Ukraine’s current account deficit tripled in May, according to NBU

KIEV, July 5 – Ukraine's current account deficit tripled in May compared to April, to $746 million, while the surplus of the account for transactions with capital and financial transactions fell by 40%, to $767 million, reads a posting on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine.


Government orders feasibility study for Ukraine gas transit upgrade

KIEV, July 6 – The Ukrainian government has instructed several ministries to draw up a feasibility study for the upgrade of the Ukrainian gas transport system and the country's underground gas storage facilities.
