Pensions threatened by banking chaos, investor group director says
KIEV, April 7 – Almost 40% of the assets of Non-Government Pension Funds (NGPFs) and 20% of the assets of public collective investment institutions (CIIs) are in the risk zone due to the unstable situation in the Ukrainian banking system, said Andriy Rybalchenko, director general of the Ukrainian Association of Investment Business (UAIB). |
Industrial prices reported up 2.7% in March after falling 0.2%
KIEV, April 7 - Prices in industry, after decreasing by 0.2% in February 2014, grew by 2.7% in March, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to its data, in annual terms industrial prices in the country rose by 3.9% from 3.3% in February, but compared to the beginning of the year they rose by 3%. |
Energy minister calls for postponement of Centrenergo privatization
DONETSK, April 4 – It is better to carry out the privatization of Centrenergo, a power generating company, after the plan on the restoration of its largest thermal power plant – Vuhlehirska thermal power plant (TTP), which was stopped at the end of March 2013 after fire – is drawn up, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky said. |
Russian pipe group denies report of Customs Union and Ukraine talks
MOSCOW, April 5 - The Russian Pipe Industry Development Fund denies a report that the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus are not holding talks with Ukraine on the revision of the current agreement which regulates supplies of some types of Ukrainian steel pipes, the acting director of FRTP, Alexander Chumakov, told Interfax. |
