Parliament approves two bills on vehicle recycling tax payments

KIEV, July 5 – Parliament has adopted two draft laws on recycling of old vehicles and amendments to the Tax Code on the payment of a vehicle recycling tax.


Cadogan, Italy’s Eni, acquire stakes in oil and gas field companies

KIEV, July 7 - British oil and gas company Cadogan Petroleum plc and Italy's Eni S.p.A. closed a transaction on July 6 where Eni acquired 30% of Pokrovskoe Petroleum B.V. and 60% in Zagoryanska Petroleum B.V. (both registered in the Netherlands), which are licensed to develop the Pokrovska and Zagoryanska oil and gas fields in Ukraine.


Naftogaz Ukrayiny pays $860 million to Gazprom for June natgas

KIEV, July 7 - Ukrainian national oil firm Naftogaz Ukrayiny transferred around $860 million to Russian gas giant OJSC Gazprom, thereby fully paying for natural gas supply to the country in June 2011, the company.

Cabinet of ministers approves rail-ferry freight deal with Turkey

KIEV, July 7 – The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved an agreement with Turkey signed on January 25 on setting up an international direct freight rail-ferry service.


EnergoAtom nuclear power generation reported up 6.4% in first half

KIEV, July 5 - Electricity output at power stations operated by Ukraine's state-run EnergoAtom nuclear energy company in January to June increased by 6.4% over the same six months last year to 43.726 billion kWh, EnergoAtom told Interfax.
