U.S.’s Best Western leaves Sevastopol hotel in Crimea amid sanctions

KYIV, Aug 6 - The U.S. hotel operator Best Western Hotels & Resorts has excluded The Best Western Sevastopol Hotel from its network in Crimea, and plans in the spring of 2019 to launch its Best Western Plus hotel with 70 rooms in Lviv.


U.S.’s Aviastar, Czech DISTAR to jointly upgrade aircraft at Odessa plant

KYIV, Aug 6 – U.S.-based Aviastar Invest Corp. and the Czech-based DISTAR CZ a.s. intend to establish technical cooperation in the field of modernization and production of aircraft at the facilities of Odesa Aircraft Plant that is part of Ukroboronprom state concern, the press service of the state concern reported.

KYIV, Aug 6 – Valki-Ilmenit LLC and Mezhyrichensk Mining and Concentration Complex, part of Dmytro Firtash's Group DF, in January-June 2018 increased production of ilmenite concentrate by 80% (or by 31,000 tonnes) year-over-year, to 70,000 tonnes, the group's press service has reported.


Indian pharmaceutical companies report targeting by SBU probe

KIEV, Aug. 5 – All major Indian pharmaceutical companies operating in Ukraine and members of the Association of Indian pharmaceutical manufacturers (IPMA) in late July received letters requesting the information on the activities of their offices in the country and information on the medicines they produce from the Security Service, IPMA told Interfax-Ukraine agency.


US $260 million credit to pay for spent nuclear fuel storage facility
