Kiev finishing talks on $308 million Uzhgorod pipeline project
BRUSSELS, Jan. 2 – Kiev and international financial institutions are finishing talks on the allocation of $308 million for the modernization of the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, Ukraine's representative to the European Union, Ambassador Kostiantyn Yeliseyev, said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. |
New Tax Code provisions hit apartments and other non-land property
KIEV, Jan. 2 – Effective January 1, Article 265 of the Tax Code took effect, according to which tax on property other than land plots is introduced.
Amendments to the Tax Code were made by law No. 4834 of May 24, 2012 which took effect on July 1, 2012. This is linked to the fact that the taxation base for immovable property is calculated on the basis of data from the state register of ownership rights to property, which under the law on amendments to some Ukrainian laws on the ensuring of the realization of rights to immovable property during state registration is introduced from January 1, 2013. |
Stalled oil refining and metals sectors will revive in 2013, PM says
KIEV, Jan. 3 – Ukraine’s stalled oil refining and electrometallurgical sectors are to resume operation in 2013, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, opening a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
"We are to resume operation of the oil refining, chemical and electrometallurgical sectors. We should achieve the implementation of the decisions made aimed at the reduction of production expenses of domestic producers in the areas," he said. |
Royalties for natural gas and oil increase several times Jan. 1
KIEV, Dec. 29 - Royalties for natural gas and oil, which is produced in Ukraine and supplied to commercial consumers or pumped into underground storage facilities, will increase by several times as of Jan. 1, 2008, according to the 2008 budget approved Dec. 28 in Parliament. |
Donetsk’s ISTIL (Ukraine) reports 13.8% rise in 2007 steel output
KIEV, Jan. 8 - Donetsk-based ISTIL (Ukraine) mini-steel mill in January through December 2007 increased finished rolled steel output by a preliminary 13.8% year-on-year, to 973,000 tons, steel output by 11.5%, to 1.026 million tons, a representative of the mill told Interfax-Ukraine. |
