NBU reports international reserves increased 1.2% in September

KIEV, Oct. 6 - The international reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine increased by $160 million, or 1.2%, in September to $12.77 billion, according to the website of the central bank.


NBU capitalization requirement too high, says PrivatBank chairman

KIEV, Oct. 7 – The largest bank in Ukraine – PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk) – has said that the recommendations of the National Bank of Ukraine on the additional capitalization of UAH 8 billion after a stress test is set too high, according to PrivatBank Chairman Oleksandr Dubilet.


Law would facilitate UAH200 billion of company debt restructuring

KIEV, Oct. 8 – The National Bank of Ukraine and the Finance Ministry have drawn up a draft law on financial restructuring of the debt of companies under bank credits, and the document could apply to the debt of around UAH 200 billion.


Karpatnaftokhim to resume polyvinylchloride production on Nov. 1

KIEV, Oct. 7 - Petrochemical company Karpatnaftokhim LLC (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region) on October 7 started pre-commissioning work to resume production of suspension polyvinylchloride, the press service of the major stockholder of the company, Lukoil, has said.


ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih to open three new steel warehouses this year

State registers secure after data breach, Justice Ministry reports

KIEV, Oct. 8 - As of 2 p.m. on October 7, all technical conditions for the functioning of all state registers were secure, the Justice Ministry reported.

The ministry that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed the integrity of state registers after checks.


Slight price uptick follows 4 months of deflation, government reports

KIEV, Oct. 5 – Four months of deflation at 0.2-0.3% have been replaced by inflation of 0.1% in September, the State Statistics Service reported on Friday.

According to the service, consumer prices in Ukraine have dropped by 0.3% since the beginning of the year, whereas compared with September 2011, they have remained at the same level, i.e. in annual terms, as in the previous month, inflation remains zero.
