Mutual funds continued to lose money in November, study shows

KIEV, Dec. 8 – Mutual funds continued to show negative results in November, with a profitability indicator of minus 2.85% compared to the minus 11.12% registered in October, according to a study by the Kiev-based Ukrainian Association of Investment Business (UAIB).


Protests brewing because of economic situation, says labor leader

KIEV, Dec. 8 – Protests are brewing in Ukraine because of the worsening economic crisis, according to the leader of the Ukraine Trade Union Federation, Vasyliy Khara.

Economy ministry proposes to halve tax on some small enterprises

KIEV, Dec. 5 – The Economy Ministry has proposed halving the unified tax on small-sized enterprises that use the simplified taxation system.

The ministry suggests cutting value-added tax (VAT) from 6% to 3% for companies that are registered as VAT payers and from 10% to 5% for those who are not registered VAT payers, reads the draft bill on the simplified taxation system, accounting and reporting for small-sized companies. The ministry published the draft bill on Friday.
