KIEV, Dec. 8 – Protests are brewing in Ukraine because of the worsening economic crisis, according to the leader of the Ukraine Trade Union Federation, Vasyliy Khara.
"As for protest actions – they are already on their way from the state-financed employees, who are ready for them, for strikes", he told Interfax-Ukraine.
Khara stated that under the auspices of the UTUF, a joint meeting is planned for the representatives of trade unions from state-financed sectors of the economy, which could suffer more than others following the approval of the 2009 budget.
