NBU to start publishing 2.5 year rate policy forecast

KYIV, July 8 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on July 18 will publish the forecast for the key policy rate for two and a half years with the purpose of boosting transparency of its policy, Deputy NBU Governor Dmytro Sologub said.

Ukraine grain yields imperiled by heat wave and continuous rain

KIEV, July 9 – The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry will review its grain yield forecast if the current heat wave continues next week.

"We won't review the forecast set at 59-60 million tons yet, but if such weather continues, we'll adjust the projection in a week," Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Oleksiy Pavlenko said at a briefing in Kiev on Thursday.

KIEV, July 9 – Ukraine's State Property Fund, which has retaken a 68% stake in PJSC Zaporizhia-based ZAlK aluminum mill as part of de-privatization, has agreed to an annual general meeting (AGM) at ZAlK with Russia's RusAl, which still owns about 29% of shares.


Ukraine gas transit to Europe and CIS reported down 7.1% in H1

KIEV, July 8 - Ukraine cut gas transit to Europe and CIS countries by 7.1%, or 2.782 billion cubic meters (bcm), year-on-year in H1 to 36.571 billion cubic meters, pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz said.


Inflation slowed to 1% in June, State Statistics Service reports

KIEV, July 8 - Inflation in Ukraine slowed to 1% in June from 3.8% in May, 3.3% in April and 2.2% in March.

Consumer prices rose by 11.6% in the first half of the year.


Legal confusion promoting growth of gas prices, consulting group says

KIEV, July 9 – The absence of due legal provision for the sales of liquefied gas by state-run companies promotes growth in the prices of liquefied gas in Ukraine, according to the A-95 consulting group (Kiev).
