KIEV, July 9 – The absence of due legal provision for the sales of liquefied gas by state-run companies promotes growth in the prices of liquefied gas in Ukraine, according to the A-95 consulting group (Kiev).
"The absence of a buffer in the form of Ukrainian-made gas makes the Ukrainian market rather sensitive to fluctuations on the foreign markets. A shortage of Ukrainian-made gas was the reason of a jump in the prices in the wholesale segment where the price of gas in the first ten days of July grew by 8%, to UAH 1,100 per tonne and the retail prices also started growing," the company said.
The experts said that at the present conditions the increase in the quotations of gas on the Ukrainian borders affects the prices inside the country in several days.
