Trial pumping of oil from Ukraine to Belarus to start Nov. 17

MINSK, Nov. 8 – The trial pumping of oil in direct mode through the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline from Ukraine to Belarus has been scheduled for Nov. 17, First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said at a press conference in Minsk on Monday.


UAH500 million needed for navy corvette in 2011, ministry says

KIEV, Nov. 9 – New car sales in Ukraine in October fell by 17% compared to September, to 15,760 cars, and by 78% compared to October 2008, similar to the fall seen in early 2009, according to AUTO-Consulting information and analytical group.


Ukraine, Kazakhstan to hike crude exports to EU by building terminal

KIEV, Nov. 7 - Ukraine and Kazakhstan seek to jointly increase exports of Kazakh crude oil to Europe by building an oil terminal facility and an oil refinery near Odessa, the Ukrainian Energy and Fuel Ministry reported Friday.

Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the national oil and gas company, and Kazmunaigaz, the Kazakh state oil and gas giant, on Thursday created a joint team to discuss these issues, the ministry said.


Ukraine plans to move 120 bcm of Russian natural gas to EU in 2009

KIEV, Nov. 7 - Ukraine plans to move at least 120 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas to markets in the European Union in 2009, on par with the record amount that is expected to be shipped in 2008.


Emergencies ministry completes stabilization of Chernobyl shelter

KIEV, Nov. 6 – Ukraine's Emergencies Ministry has completed stabilization work at the Shelter facility of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported that an acceptance protocol as a part of the Stabilization of the Building Structure of the Shelter facility project will be signed on Thursday in Chernobyl, and Emergencies Minister Volodymyr Shandra would be present at the signing of the document.


State road service seeks additional state funding to pay debts

KIEV, Nov. 7 – The State Road Service of Ukraine, Ukravtodor, needs additional state support to pay external debts, according to Oleksandr Shlapak, first deputy head of the presidential secretariat.
